The pinhole camera obscura was fairly easy to assemble and complete. First I measured the box and marked it to make two cuts on opposite sides of the box. After completing these cuts about about one third from the bottom of the box I slipped piece of tracing paper through them to create a screen. After tapping it in place I tapped any remaining openings that might let in light shut leaving one end open for viewing. Finally I used a pin to poke a hole in the closed end of the box.

Three Habits that were useful:
Persisting was a habit that we practiced a lot throughout this project whenever there was a bump in the design or we needed to redo something we practiced persistence. Striving for precision and accuracy was also helpful throughout this project as it required lots of precise measurements and cuts in order to produce a camera that worked well. Listening to others was also very important during this project in order for us to best combine each of our personal ideas in order to create a functioning and successful design. |
A habit that would have been helpful:
Taking Responsible Risk would have been a helpful habit to cultivate during this project because I did not want to get rid of the tracing paper as a screen over the viewing hole our camera did not work on the first try. If I had been more open minded to this risk we could have realized we did not need the tracing paper sooner and completed the project more efficiently. Thinking and Communicating with Clarity and Precision Is another habit of mind that we could have used more in order to help us communicate our ideas about how to most efficiently assemble our camera which we struggled to communicate at times. |
