Placing the subject along one of the lines or intersections of the rule of thirds feels more natural to the viewer because that is where our eyes naturally go when looking at an image. 4. When photographing a landscape, where should the horizon line be placed? The horizon line should be place along one of the horizontal lines of the rule of thirds. This way you always have a 1/3 to 2/3 ratio of land to sky or vice versa. 5. What are two questions you might want to consider when composing an image? Some questions you may want to ask yourself are what are my points of interest and where am I placing them in the shot.
