For these effects I struggled a little more to outline what I really wanted because The elliptical Marquee is not as straight forward as a concrete corner to start at. An important tip that I learned was you can Move the shape you have created by hitting the space bar. In both of these I selected the area I wanted with the marquee tool (The bride and groom then the moon) and then completed the desired effect(Feathered and added white with editing tools and copy and pasted to create a new composite photo).

This tool was very fun and easy to use and importantly taught me how to use the inverse option on something you have selected. To start with this one I selected the magic wand tool from the tool bar under the quick select tool. I selected the sky to capture all the pixel of the similar color and then used the adding feature to select the parts of the sky that were a slightly different gradient. After that I inverted my selection to copy and past the buildings onto a new sky.

The quick select tool took some practice but one I figured it out was very easy to use. After selecting the tool from the tool bar I simply selected the areas I wanted and Photoshop selected based on texture. In order to perfect my selections I used the option and shift keys to subtract and add portions that wanted. After doing that I could copy and paste the image onto a white layer and eventually invert the selection to change the hue of the background to make it look like an alien was about to abduct us all.

I selected the lasso tool from the side tool bard and used it to first make a rough loop around the the desired portion of the picture(the hands). Then I went back and used the Alt(-) and shift(+) keys to add and subtract from the selected area until I was satisfied and could copy and past the selected portion onto my preferred background.

I chose the lasso tool by opening the hidden selection underneath the lasso tool. Using this tool I could create straight lines that changed directions at the points on clicked on. This easily allowed me to outline irregular polygon shapes such as building so the could be replace as in the first example or onto a new background as in the second example.

The Magnetic lasso tool can also be selected from under the lasso tool in the tool bar. This tool allowed me to easily trace the outline of the irregular shape of the Buddha as it naturally followed the edge of the texture change in the photo. I did have to place some points prematurely in order to maintain accuracy. After fully selecting the desired portion I could copy and paste it onto any desired background.

After understanding the witchcraft of the Pen tool it became really easy for me to create the curves needed to select my dolphins. You can find the pen tool in the side tool a]bar and the key things I learned while doing this was to drag when placing a new point to establish handle bars and use the option key to control one handle bar at a time. Once I was done outlining I went into pathways and made my pathway into a selection and copy and pasted it onto my desired backgrounds.
